What’s Next

12% of America is protected land–preserved for habitat, forestry and recreation. Amid the swirling waves of political turmoil, social upheaval, and a COVID-crisis, Americans began reexamining how their home looks and feels. Nestled in the quiet pockets of protected lands, a treasure trove of wildlife, natural landscapes, and recreational opportunities await–if you know how to access them. On this coast-to-coast adventure, Seattle-based landscape photographer Shane Srogi tackles the various facets of America’s outdoor spaces–their picturesque colors, vibrant scenes, one-of-kind sunsets, but also their complex relationship with local communities. Shane hopes to raise awareness of public lands, what they mean for Americans, and why they’re worth protecting.

FROM THE EVERGLADES TO THE PACIFIC

In 2021 I drove 12000 miles around the country, Photographing America.  In 2022 I went back for more!  Those experiences convinced me to move back to the PNW and after a 10 year absence I’m back in Seattle!

 

The Future

I’m very much looking to the future. Three months on the road hold the promise of many adventures.  It represents more than a year of planning.  I hope you’ll journey with me across America
